The Jesuit Summer Resort at Kalamitsia

This impressive building in Kalamitsia was the summer resort of the Jesuit monks and it is a mixture of western and local architectural style. It was built in the 17th century by the family of Robert Soze and it is comprised of many rooms, a chapel, auxiliary buildings (pigeon house, barn, mill, etc.) and a huge garden. Because of its luxurious construction, the monastery - resort is also referred to as "the Palace of the Jesuits”.

The monastery is near Melanes Village and it also offers its visitors a small parking area.
